Transparency, luminosity, lightness, variety of colours and designs.
Laminated glass consists of joining several sheets of glass of any thickness by means of an intermediate film made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA), and resins activated by ultraviolet light or simply by mixing their ingredients.
Due to improvements in the production of this glass type, laminated glass is now being used in applications hitherto forbidden to them, such as construction. They replace other products by offering certain aesthetic, as well as the required construction characteristics, such as transparency, luminosity, lightness or a variety of colours and designs.
Laminated glass, when developed for this purpose, offers huge strength, so much so that it can be used as a building element. In fact, it is becoming increasingly popular to use it like this.
Glass of this type, meeting all required official technical standards, is readily available.
Brightness inside a house or building is desirable. Though when excessive, it can be a nuisance. To avoid this, when using laminated glass, we use filters to control how much sunlight comes through.
This is usually achieved by adding metal oxides to the inner layers.
One of the reasons why laminated glass is used in building facades, as well as its high strength, is that by using the right combination of materials, high thermal insulation is achieved, significantly reducing heating and air conditioning costs.
As with thermal insulation, laminated glass can be used to achieve good acoustic insulation, thereby increasing the suitability of this material for construction.
The use of laminated glass is on the rise
In interior decoration, laminated glass can be used to separate spaces without preventing light from passing through, thus achieving a greater sense of spaciousness.
Due to the high strength of laminated glass, it can also be used as flooring or paving to separate floors, greatly increasing the light in the room and creating a unique visual effect that can only be achieved using laminated glass.
Some of the most common uses of laminated glass are: bathroom and shower screens, security doors, shop and building windows, furniture, stair railings, dividing walls, display cabinets, aquariums, terrace enclosures, lifts and more.
Our technology and versatility allow us to combine security with decoration. We can laminate digitally screen-printed glass with ceramic paints, opaque glass or coloured films. Diversity of applications in commercial and residential use where the design requires specific colours or images
Mainly used in shops and shop windows, it prevents heat without darkening and blocks it without reflecting, saving energy consumption inside and protecting products.
Windows in areas with high noise pollution, skylights and glazed roofs, reducing noise from rain or hail.
Intelligent glass, transparency, opacity or heat, with just one click, offices, shop windows, room dividers, etc.
Stair treads, walkways etc.
As variety is the spice of life, we can laminate using special foils, such as fabrics, glass, metals, plants and more. Ask for a design contract
